legup.social is a collaborative project from the digital community to help small businesses, charities and social enterprises with digital, for free.

Our community of digital experts help those who need support with specific skills or needs. We pair the challenges of our mentees with the skills of our mentors to help them progress.

Why we started…

We saw good people struggling with some of the challenges with how the modern digital world is changing the way we live and do business. We also saw the digital industry become less inclusive, and more expensive. We wanted to find a way to remove those barriers, and practice new skills and learn new things at the same time.

Our Principles

We have a set of principles which guides how each event is run. We’re not a stickler for rules, but we like to know that the people who attend can work together happily, and leave the event feeling it was useful.

 

The community owns it

legup.social is free and supported by Paper, but we don't own it, you do.
 

Our mentors are busy people

While the event is free we ask that if you want to work together outside of legup.social that you agree commercially how you’re going to work together.

Don’t be scared to ask

Our mentors provide advice and guidance based on experience, but it’s ultimately up to you whether you act on (any) of it.

Free of charge

There is no cost to attend, and our digital people aren’t paid.
 

No cold calling

If you want to win work, or sell your products this isn’t the place for you. It’s purely for the good of the community and those people who want to offer some time for free within our network.

You’re welcome any time

We encourage first timers and repeat visitors. Please pre register before attending though.
